To play this game, it is necessary to download the GEOFUN application to a smartphone, which is completely free of charge. The application is intended for Android and iOS systems. Afterwards, it is necessary to register and then download the specific geo-game that one wants to play.
Geo-game Battle of Chlum 1866
In the geo-game Battle of Chlum 1866, the virtual guide is the legendary cannoneer Jabůrek. The geo-game is activated using the GPS system at the Adalbertinum in Hradec Králové. Then the players, alongside the guide, have to find out what their combat task is and which battle position they must occupy in order to stand on the correct side of the barricade and for His Imperial Majesty to win. The geo-game is primarily intended for cyclists, as its length exceeds 10 km, but it is also accessible to pedestrians. The geo-game can be completed at any time in good weather. In Hradec Králové, you can try a total of five such games. Three of them can be completed by bicycle – besides “Battle of Chlum 1866”, also “Tour de Hradec Králové” and “Through woods and not through woods, by roads and off roads, I ride after You…”. Brief introduction to GEOFUN
GEOFUN is a new modern geolocation game for smartphones in various language versions. This game guides players in an entertaining and competitive form through interesting places not only in Czech regions. Several geo-games are carried out in Poland and Bavaria. The game is based on the well-known geocaching, but in its essence it is more multimedia, action-oriented and includes an interesting story. The virtual guide always navigates the player where to go. Each game is an original trip in which the player does not know in advance either the route or the tasks that await along the way. That is where the charm of each game lies. Thus every game is unique through both its route and thematic story.
From registration and downloading the specific geo-game, the game then runs offline without the need for an internet connection. Within the game, players complete various fun tasks, for example recording videos, taking photos or selfies, answering the guide's curious questions, finding out what places looked like in the past, and there is even an augmented reality function. For completed games, they collect geonks (points) and can compete for interesting prizes.
