Battlefield of 1866 – Chlum near Sadová

Lovers of history, war and combat weaponry will definitely like to visit the Chlum elevation, where the bloodiest battle of the 19th century was fought. There are more than 460 memorials, monuments and cemeteries with the battlefield site. The newly renovated Museum of the War of 1866 at Chlum was opened in the central area. A beautiful view of the surrounding area is provided by the 34.6 m high tower. Commemorative events to mark the anniversary of the battle are held annually on the first weekend in July.
