The terrain of the memorial zone also allows very good and relatively easy cycling. Therefore we also provide an overview of recommended cycling routes.
The proposal is taken from the publication Cycling Trips around Hradec Králové, issued by the Regional Development Department of the District Office in Hradec Králové in 1999. Most of the routes are still not marked in the field. Therefore we recommend using, for example, the 1:50,000 Hradecko and Pardubicko tourist map from the Czech Tourists Club edition No. 24.
I. Small circuit around the monuments of the 1866 battle - 14 km
From Všestary follow the red tourist trail to Rozběřice, the so-called Ravine of the Dead to Chlum, and then the yellow trail down to Dlouhé Dvory to the 1866 memorial. From there approximately 500 m back to the village of Dlouhé Dvory, where turn left on the yellow trail through Střezetice to Probluz, where turn left and follow the blue trail via the so-called Žižka's Table and Rosnice back to Všestary.
II. To Hrádek u Nechanic Chateau - 25 km
From the railway station by Hotel Černigov in Hradec Králové take Puškinova Street to Gočárova Avenue, turn right and follow Pražská Street for about 1.5 km to the turn right into Zelená Street towards Stěžery. Cross the main road intersection straight into Stěžery. Here, by the church, turn left and follow the road to Těchlovice, continuing along the main road towards Radíkovice. There turn right on the red tourist trail through the village of Hrádek up to Hrádek u Nechanic Chateau. Continue on the red trail to the junction with the blue tourist trail beginning there; turn right onto it and follow the former carriage road from Hrádek to Dolní Přím Chateau and then the road to the edge of Nový Přím. Continue on the blue trail by road to the group of war memorials from 1866, where the blue trail leaves the road to the right. Continue uphill by road to Horní Přím, where at the end of the village turn right onto the field road lined with an avenue of trees to Stěžírky. There turn left, pass through the whole village and at the main road turn right to Stěžery and from there return the same way to Hradec Králové.
III. Chlum via Hoříněves - 20 km
From Všestary railway station follow the red trail to the road junction, where turn right to Světí. In Světí pass the church and continue along the main road; after the village turn left towards Neděliště. There turn right on the yellow trail through the village along the road. After about 2 km the yellow trail turns right; continue by road to Sendražice. Pass through the village and continue towards Hoříněves, where join the red tourist trail and follow it left through the Hoříněves pheasantry to Máslojedy and the Svíb forest, then through Čistěves and Lípa to Chlum. From there, along the church and the so-called Ravine of the Dead, descend to Rozběřice and back to Všestary.
IV. Long circuit through the 1866 battlefield - 26 km
From Všestary follow the blue tourist trail to Rosnice, then via the so-called Žižka's Table to Probluz. There turn right on the yellow trail through Střezetice to Dlouhé Dvory, where the yellow trail forks and we continue right. After about 200 m the yellow trail crosses a road, which we follow left to the Hejcmanka homestead, where we join the red trail that takes us all the way to Rozběřice. At the trail junction turn left and continue on the red trail up to Chlum. From there continue still on the red trail through Lípa, Čistěves, the Svíb forest and Máslojedy through the Hoříněves pheasantry to Hoříněves. Here leave the red trail and turn right onto the road towards Sendražice, pass through the village and take the first road turning after the village to the right. After about 700 metres you meet the yellow trail, which leads through Neděliště to the road to Rozběřice, where the yellow trail leaves the road to the right. However, continue on the road, which will bring you to the marked trail crossroads in Rozběřice, and from there take the red trail left back to Všestary.
V. Full-day circuit through the 1866 battlefield - 36 km
From náměstí Svobody in Hradec Králové set out on the red tourist trail across Pražský Bridge, after which turn left. Then follow the red trail along the River Elbe to Lochenice, where cross the railway and join the yellow tourist trail. It will lead through Lochenice and Neděliště to Chlum and further through Dlouhé Dvory and Střezetice to Probluz. There join the blue trail and follow it right through Dolní Přím to Hrádek u Nechanic. From Hrádek return about 200 m on the green trail to the road, where change to the red trail and continue right through Hrádek to Radíkovice, where leave the red trail and turn left by road to Těchlovice, pass through it straight on the main road to Stěžery. There arrive at the main road and turn right towards Hradec Králové. After about 1.5 km cross the main route and arrive in Hradec Králové via Zelená Street. Turn left into Pražská Street, which becomes Gočárova Avenue, and follow it back to the starting point, náměstí Svobody.
VI. From Hradec Králové to Nechanice and back - 34 km
From the railway station and Hotel Černigov take Puškinova Street to Gočárova Avenue. Turn right along it to Pražská Street into the city district of Kukleny, where turn right into Zelená Street, which leads to the intersection with the main road to Prague. Cross it and continue by road to Stěžery. There turn left towards Těchlovice and Radíkovice. The red tourist trail comes from the left; continue right on it through Hrádek to Hrádek u Nechanic. From Hrádek return approximately 200 m on the green trail back to the road, turn left and it will lead to Nechanice. There join the red trail again and follow it right to Lubno. Between the first houses of Lubno the red trail leaves the road to the right, but continue on the road to Dlouhý Přím, where you meet the blue trail. It will guide you through Dolní Přím, Probluz, to Žižka's Table and further via Rosnice to Všestary. There join the red trail, follow it left and after about 250 metres leave it again at the first crossroads and turn right towards Světí. Pass through Světí and continue straight to the main road. Turn left there and continue about 250 m before turning right again to Předměřice. There turn right by road towards Hradec Králové. Enter Hradec Králové through Plotiště via Petra Jilemnického Street. At the junction with Koutníkova Street turn left and pass the petrol station and over the railway overpass to the traffic lights. There turn right and at the next junction with Haškova Street turn right again towards Hotel Černigov and the railway station.
